Geelong tours
Themed Tours
Our themed tours are a sensational way of discovering Geelong’s historic characters and our monumental Geelong Eastern Cemetery at the same time. The cemetery is in its 181st year of operation since the first burial of Hugh Niven in 1839 and holds a host of amazing stories waiting to be discovered.
School Or Community Group Tours
The cemetery can be a very curious subject to children and adults and can often be depicted as a scary place through media, however this could not be more further from the truth. Cemeteries hold amazing stories of souls of our past and can provide a great insight into the history of the town that hosts it.

History Alive - Eastern Cemetery
Self Guided Tour
For those who are unable to attend our popular History Alive tours, the Geelong Cemeteries Trust has now created a self-guided walk of the History Alive tour within the historical sections of the Geelong Eastern Cemetery.
Visit some of the graves of our pioneers and read their story. All you need is a smart phone or tablet with a Quick Response (QR) reader downloaded, and you can follow the same trail that Captain Foster Fyans and James Harrison guides you through on the full tour.
