Geelong Cemeteries Trust is reviewing its fees and charges and invites members of the community to have their say.
Our fees and charges are reviewed periodically to ensure they reflect the true cost of delivering dignified, compassionate, and high-quality services to families across all our locations. This review is part of our ongoing commitment to transparency, affordability, and accountability.
What is being reviewed?
The proposed fees and charges cover the full range of services provided by Geelong Cemeteries Trust, including:
- Rights of Interment — grave positions across lawn, monument, memorial walk, mausoleum, natural burial, and children’s areas
- Interment Services — grave excavation/preparation, reopening, and associated charges for burials and entombments
- Cremation Services — cremation fees, chapel and function room hire, and related administration charges
- Memorialisation — positions for cremated remains including niche walls, rose gardens, garden seats, shared trees, fountains, and family memorial options available in both 25-year tenure and perpetual tenure
- Memorial Permits – memorial permit fees associated with granting of permits for memorialisation works
The review considers the cost of labour, materials, overheads, perpetual maintenance obligations, and our regulatory requirements, with the goal of ensuring our fees remain fair, sustainable, and reflective of the services we deliver.
