Geelong Cemeteries Trust is proud to launch the Virtual Memorialisation Pilot in Colac, marking an exciting step forward in preserving and sharing local stories, history and legacy through innovative digital memorialisation.
Developed in collaboration with Arrow Bronze and the Colac & District Family History Group, the pilot project draws on the Almost Forgotten collection — an extensive community research initiative containing life stories, historical records and images of individuals interred at Colac Cemetery prior to the 1900s.
The Virtual Memorialisation Pilot Project has been thoughtfully designed to create a meaningful, accessible and enduring way for families and the broader community to connect with and honour the lives and legacies of those who helped shape the Colac district.
Join us for the launch of the Virtual Memorialisation Pilot Project, followed by a self-guided experience at Colac Cemetery.
