Cremation is an increasingly popular option with approximately 60% of all Victorian families choosing cremation. The Geelong Cemeteries Trust owns and operates 2 modern cremators located at the Geelong Memorial Park in Armstrong Creek.
The crematorium, Geelong’s first, was constructed in 1988. The first cremation took place on 21 April 1988. Since 1988, the Trust has performed more than 24,000 cremations.

Recycling Program
The Geelong Cemeteries Trust participates in a State run program through the Cemeteries and Crematoria Association of Victoria (CCAV) that creates the opportunity to recycle surgical metals remaining after cremation. Any funds raised will be donated to Geelong bereavement charities. Please click here for further information.
