Our history
The township of Kensington was created in 1859. The Bellarine Peninsula was proud of its safe, healthy environment and the Kensington Cemetery Trust often noted – partly in jest – that it had no money in the bank because there were so few burials.
In February 1893 Kensington was renamed Leopold and so the cemetery was renamed too.
