Overview of Cemetery
Leopold (Kensington) Cemetery is a charming location nestled amongst the rural beauty of the local area. With many memorialisation options, this location offers a recently established shelter for visitors to sit and reflect.
What we offer at this location
The township of Kensington was created in 1859. The Bellarine Peninsula was proud of its safe, healthy environment and the Kensington Cemetery Trust often noted – partly in jest – that it had no money in the bank because there were so few burials.
In February 1893 Kensington was renamed Leopold and so the cemetery was renamed too.
