Our history
This location was renamed as the current Mount Moriac Cemetery in 1865 to replace the previous, and confusing name of Duneed (Mount Moriac) Cemetery.
With hindsight, it is difficult to understand how these names could be so confused considering the two small farming villages were 15 kilometres apart, located in different shires and managed by different civic and religious leaders.
